DC Snowboards

One of the brands that has grown to be synonymous with snowboarding over recent years with an incredible team and some badass projects, DC snowboarding has become an action sports giant since its inception in 1993.

Originally starting off with athletes like Todd Richards, the brand progressed from softgoods into hardware in the blink of an eye. Snapping up Euro groms Ikka Backstrom and Lauri Heiskari along the way. May we also mention the brief altercation with Dolce and Gabbana that seems to no longer be on the internet…just think DC Shoes and the D&G logo…

Not content with just snapping up some of the finest shred talent in the West, Ken Block went a step further and bought a private ‘Research & Development’  facility (read: mountain) for the DC Team. This lead to one of this authors favourite snowboard movies back in 2005, the DC MTN LAB featuring classic riding from Travis Parker, BJ Leines and Simon Chamberlin.

Quiksilver bought the DC Shoes outfit in 2004, but has kept its own thing going since. DC are keeping their fingers in the Euro pie by sponsoring the Meribel Area 43 Park and threw the DC Shred Days event at the end of the 2013 season, inviting pro’s, shops and industry types to come see what DC has to offer in the 2013/14 season.
